Light Curtains are available for safeguarding personnel when operating an Accurpress. The curtain consists of a transmitter and receiver along with the controller, which is designed to meet the appropriate OSHA and ANSI standards when set correctly for the job. In operation, the curtain extends a "curtain of light" in front of the hazardous area. If a worker's hand breaks the "curtain," a signal is sent to the stop circuit on the machine. The curtain offers floating blanking and exact channel select to allow the operator versatility with various bending operations. In addition, the light curtain allows for muting in the slow pressing speed. External limit switches are adjusted for the appropriate muting location.

Lazer Safe leads the way in safety and productivity with a guarding system that is designed specifically for press brakes. This complete machine surveillance package monitors all aspects of the bending process, including hydraulics, press control and electronics. The result is a system that maintains the highest level of productivity, simplicity of operation, operator protection, and can actually enhance overall factory output.

At Accurpress, we strive to provide our customers with guarding systems to protect your workforce from accidents, while enhancing your equipment appearance. Accurpress modular rear guarding is available for all models. Upon entry into the unsafe area, all motion is halted to ensure safe access for operators or maintenance personnel. Our design is engineered to comply with the CSA standard for safeguarding devices when used in conjunction with either Light Curtain or Lazer Safe guarding systems.

Palm buttons are included as a standard feature with every Accurpress, and are mounted on the ETS pedestal. Optionally, palm buttons c/w an emergency stop button may be mounted on the ram in lieu of the stand. For two person operation, additional palm buttons are available on a pedestal or on the ram.

In the manufacturing of all Accurpress equipment, safety is a primary consideration. Accurpress is committed to occupational health and safety, and has produced a safety manual as a means to assist owners and operators in understanding and complying with their responsibilities with regard to the regulations for the use and operation of press brakes and shears. However, a press brake can only be safe when operated properly in accordance with the machine owner¹s manual, and the specific dictates of the applicable OSHA and ANSI regulations. Please consult your owners manual and safety manual for additional information.

This safety feature allows the press to operate only when both foot switches are depressed. A selector switch on the main electrical cabinet allows for either single or dual foot switch control. When operating the press brake with both foot switches, the ram will immediately move to the up position if one foot switch is released.
